Vehicle Description This exceptional 1964 Corvair 95 Greenbrier van was meticulously restored in 1993.
It has the rare after market Turtle Top that extends the standing room inside the camper to 72.
It is outfitted with a GM camper package, one of only 50 manufactured.
The opposed 6 cylinder, air cooled, rear mounted engine is the correct 110hp engine and 4 speed transmission.
During the rebuild, new jugs and pistons and a 95hp crank was installed for greater low end torque.
New heads.
Close to 40k miles on the rebuild.
Always garaged, currently on display at the Corvair Museum in Glenarm, Illinois.
The van has never needed rust repair.
The current owner is the 2nd owner of this van, with the original temporary registration in the glove box.
April 13, 1964 was the original sale date from Whitmore Chevrolet in West Point, Virginia.
There is an am/fm CD stereo in the van.
An OEM radio is available.
Suspension, brakes, lights and systems restored, maintained and in good working condition.
Featured in a Motor Trend article from 2014 and on the Discovery channel in a program called Sticker Shock, the van's rare components have been very well maintained and retain a mostly like new appearance.
A link to the Motor Trend article is available, where more detailed information is listed.
Also, a nice comparison to other camper vans of the era and a very positive review of the Greenbrier by Field & Stream in 1961 who did extensive field tests with several camper vans of the era.
Also, a link to the Turtle Top camper tops is available.
